Acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Berlin — Neukölln and Prenzlauer Berg

I am happy to treat you with acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapy for a wide range of health complaints at my practices in Berlin-Neukölln and Prenzlauer Berg.

What to expect at your first appointment

We begin with an in-depth conversation about your complaints, health history, and your life circumstances. To get a complete picture, I use diagnostic methods such as pulse, tongue, and abdominal diagnosis. Based on my findings, I create an individual treatment plan for you.

If you’re nervous about needles, that’s completely understandable—acupuncture doesn’t have to be painful. And if needles aren’t right for you, we can explore other gentle options like acupressure, cupping, or moxibustion (a technique that uses warmth to stimulate acupuncture points).

I am happy to support you with:

  • Period pain/cycle disorders

  • Endometriosis

  • PCOS

  • PMS/PMDD

  • Cysts, fibroids

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Menopausal symptoms

  • Support during fertility treatments

  • Support during pregnancy & birth preparation

  • Migraine/headaches

  • Acute and chronic pain, such as back, knee, and shoulder pain

  • Sleep disorders

  • Digestive problems

  • Exhaustion and stress-related complaints

What I appreciate most about Chinese medicine is its holistic perspective. It doesn’t just focus on individual symptoms—it looks at the whole person. Two people might come in with the same symptoms, but their treatments can be completely different. That’s because we’re always looking for the underlying pattern, not just aiming for short-term relief.

My journey into Chinese medicine began with a personal experience. After years of struggling with allergies, I tried acupuncture—and was genuinely surprised by the results. That experience sparked a deep interest, and I’ve been exploring Chinese medicine ever since. I’ve continued my training in both acupuncture and herbal therapy, continually deepening my understanding of this medicine.

Learn more about my treatment methods:

  • Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves influencing the body's energy by placing fine needles at various acupuncture points on the body. The appropriate points are selected depending on the symptoms and diagnosis.

  • Chinese herbal therapy

In TCM, herbs are used alongside acupuncture. The respective mixture is put together individually for each patient and is usually drunk as a tea.

  • Nutrition

Nutrition, along with acupuncture, herbal therapy, Tuina massage, and Qigong, is one of the five pillars of the treatment system of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is of great importance for health and well-being.

 FAQ

  • The costs of treatment must be paid privately. In most cases, acupuncture is not covered by statutory health insurance. Private health insurance companies usually cover a portion of the costs. There are also supplementary insurance policies for alternative practitioners that reimburse most or all of the costs of acupuncture. Please find out which costs are covered by your health insurance provider before starting treatment.

Further information on treatment costs and insurance coverage can be found here.

  • Yes, acupuncture can gently support you during pregnancy. It is often used to treat symptoms such as nausea, back pain, fatigue, sleep disorders, or inner restlessness—always tailored to your individual situation, of course. It is best to discuss this with your practitioner before starting treatment.

  • The number of sessions is individual and depends on your personal situation. Only after a detailed anamnesis interview and an initial treatment can we determine together how many sessions are appropriate for you. Many patients require more intensive support at the beginning, but the frequency can decrease over time.

In general, however, it can be said that chronic complaints that have existed for a long time usually require a longer treatment period than acute complaints.

  • You can cancel your appointment free of charge up to 24 hours in advance. In the event of cancellations at shorter notice or no-shows, please understand that the appointment will be charged in full.

  • After treatment, it is best to rest, drink plenty of water, and refrain from strenuous exercise or alcohol for a few hours. A relaxing walk can also be very beneficial and support the effects of acupuncture.
